What's Going On
Attacks on civilian areas in Lebanon have displaced 1,000,000 people in recent days, and killed thousands, including children involved in War Child programs. 2 War Child centers have also been completely destroyed. These attacks are just the latest in a long line of crises for children and families in Lebanon.
What We're Doing
War Child is active across all governates of Lebanon. We are currently in more than 40 locations - including the most vulnerable areas of the country. All children deserve the same opportunities in life. That’s why our psychosocial support, education and protection projects see us work with Syrian and Palestinian refugee families as well as host communities. We also strive to boost the inclusion of children with disabilities. We partner with local NGOs and grassroots organisations to co-create our projects and strengthen their capacity. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible through our programming – including parents and caregivers.
From the ground
"By the end...[it] had transformed into a vision of restored homes and vibrant life, new houses, animals, etc. reflecting the children’s resilience, optimism, and determination to rebuild theirlives and communities
